I am a Senior UI Artist at Criterion Games, Electronic Arts. I have over fifteen years of experience in the video games industry. I have achieved ✨Criterion Games’ Artist of the Year✨ four times (🏆2018, 🏆2019, 🏆2021, 🏆2022), which was voted by my peers and I appreciate a lot.

I feel my time at Criterion has been a great learning experience and has improved my skillset beyond my expectation. I strive to bring an expert voice, a valid opinion, and years of proving myself to the studio. I am passionate in fulfilling, and exceeding expectations, of the project vision for my team and the player.

Alongside working for Criterion Games, I have also worked with DICE and Ghost Games during my time there, and have worked for Codemasters in the past.

NEED FOR SPEED UNBOUND

Senior UI Artist
Criterion Games, EA. 2022

My main focus for the game during production was working on the HUD. Working on the style guide, creating a language for the HUD derived from the project vision and the game design. I also massively affected how the presentation for the game looked during pre-production.

My personal art influenced the game too, you can see my art, amongst others, as murals across the world as collectables.

BattleField 2042

Senior UI Artist
DICE (at Criterion Games), EA 2021

Whilst at Criterion Games, we helped DICE on Battlefield 2042. During this time I was looking after some of the art for their UI team. I worked within their existing style-guide and expanding upon it across several features, I created iconography, pre-visuals for implementation, and helped direct the in-game communication feature (commo rose), I also created all the achievement/trophy icons for the game, and the Battlefield Coin cards for retail.

Criterion Games - Game Jam

UI Artist
Criterion Games, EA 2020

Criterion Games had an official internal game jam, which was then opened to view for the general public I was responsible for the branding - the main work being the ident that would be shown in promotion and at the start of each game jam project trailer. This was initiated by me leading a workshop on using After Effects to the other UI Artists and TAs, which then led to this collaborative work.

Need For Speed Heat

UI Artist
Ghost Games (at Criterion Games), EA 2019

Criterion Games helped Ghost Games on some features for NFS Heat. I worked on the Collectibles and Districts feature for both the front-end and in-world, HUD for activities (speed trap, drift zone, etc…), and added polish for the HUD and central messaging throughout the game like Central Messages, Escaped messaging...

Battlefield V - Firestorm

UI Artist
DICE (at Criterion Games), EA 2018

I worked on many features for BFV Firestorm, as I was the sole UI Artist on the Firestorm project.

Being the only UI Artist on the project and without a UX design team, it was a grand task to get through. I started by thoroughly investigating battle royale games of the time, making sure our version of it was as good if not better than what was currently available. I worked on creating and helping to implement the inventory system which featured rarities, management, armour slots, these were new features to the Battlefield V package.

I also helped created a lot of dev swag for the studio during the project and at launch to celebrate my colleagues.

Star Wars Battlefront II - Starfighter Assault

UI Artist
DICE (at Criterion Games), EA 2017

Criterion Games worked on this DICE project, focusing on our own mode called Starfighter Assault. I worked on the front-end specifically holograms for various screens, lots of the iconography, and the exciting task of creating Kylo Ren’s TIE-Silencer Star Cards!

Need for Speed (2015)

UI Artist
Ghost Game (At Criterion Games), EA 2015

I worked on the UI Art for Need For Speed (2015). Created front-end and in-game assets, proposed and implemented UX journeys for sections of the front-end. I was also responsible for the HTML manuals that were needed for the Xbox version of the game.

This was also my first time working in FrostEd editor for the Frostbite engine. This would be the first time on many occasions working in the engine.

Criterion Games

Senior UI Artist

I’ve absolutely loved working at Criterion Games, so many great opportunities, people, projects, and personal achievements. Whilst working on the dev side of games, I also did a lot of work around the studio. From creating art for the walls, swag, web assets... This was an extra bit of fun to help push forward the studio culture.

Codemasters

Web Designer

I worked as a web designer for Codemasters, creating art and working in HTML and CSS to polish implementation. Creating and leading marketing campaigns for adverts that would be seen by a huge amount of people; creating a series of banners and takeovers - adhering to tight restrictions on size limits. Working in Flash and scripting using AS2.0. Alongside these larger marketing projects I would have to consistently update newsletters for various games in 10+ languages coding in HTML using nested tables 😅.

My time here was on various projects, promoting and supporting game releases and communities. F1 Online: The Game, F1 Race Stars, Lord of the Rings Online, DiRT 2, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, Operation Flashpoint Red River, Overlord 2, Damnation, Fuel, International Cricket 2010, Ashes Cricket 2009, …
